This is a draft for the info section on our MinecraftServers.org page.

Thanks for checking out MCPublic, the world's oldest public Minecraft server. Here, you can enjoy a lag-free vanilla experience on one our of three worlds: creative, PvE, and Survival. Come meet out talented builders. There is no need to register, no "trial" area, and there are no tiers, so you have access to all the server features everyone else does. The server staff are friendly and helpful, and always ready to give a hand. Worlds are refreshed about every 5 months, and you can even download your creations when the world is refreshed.

Creative

  • Free building: access to all the blocks (within reasonable limits)
  • Build anywhere: find an unprotected and unoccupied location and immediately start building
  • Anti-griefing: get your builds protected; all griefing can be undone in a snap
  • Community builds, promoted builds: help out others in community projects, or start your own large scale project and get a warp

PvE

  • Join a city or explore on your own: Join one of over a dozen cities available, or build wherever you like
  • Events: fireworks, spleef, PvP arena
  • Doppelganger fights: engage into a fight against the doppelganger of another player, and get rewarded if you win
  • No mobs block griefing

Survival

  • Free for all: build a base; form alliances
  • Whatever else you do on S here

Global

  • Clanchat: private chat for your clan or your friends
  • Mail: send other players messages when they're offline
  • Modreq system: need something done by a moderator? Use modreqs
  • Download your creations: old revisions are archived and available for public download
  • End of rev chaos: just before a revision ends, you can muck up other people's builds for fun

To join, connect to nerd.nu. Once you get settled, you can connect directly to your favorite server: c.nerd.nu for creative, p.nerd.nu for PvE, or s.nerd.nu for survival. Please read the rules, either online, via the rulebook when you first join, or look around at the signs at spawn.
